Senior Leaders “Fellows” Class 

In January 2006, the Nigeria Leadership Initiative Inaugural Senior Leaders Class was held in Hertfordshire, United Kingdom from 18 – 21 January 2006. The 27 nominated fellows are men and women who have achieved success in fields of finance, education, health, business, public administration and civil society development.

The nominated Fellows participated in a 4-day seminar under the guidance Peter Reiling and Keith Berwick of the Aspen Institute. Each participant was required to undertake individual leadership projects and agree to actively participate in NLI Class projects.

BRICS and the Nigerian Economy

The success of January 2006 Senior Leaders seminar resulted in a special presentation on the BRICs (Brazil, Russia, India and China) and Nigerian economies to the Presidency and the Stakeholders in the economy in Abuja in April 2006.  The Presentation was made by Ben Broadbent, a Senior Economist with Goldman Sachs International who has worked extensively on issues affecting the European economies, including EMU, corporate investment and profitability, consumer behaviour and the housing market.
