National Re-Orientation Project

National Re-Orientation

NLI engages in the following flagship initiatives under our primary Projects:

NLI challenges Nigerian Citizens to inculcate these values in all spheres on their lives as we are fully aware that in order for change to take place in any system, it has to come from within the system.

NLI will serve as motivators, promoters and catalysts for this change and will work with other stakeholders and credible organizations to inculcate these values into our schools, communities and work places.

We have therefore identified four main pillars that will serve as a conduit for change. These Pillars and their Initiatives include:

I. Schools:  NLI will engage the minds of Nigeria’s youth in secondary schools by encouraging their respective schools to include values based education in their academic curriculum. NLI would also encourage national inter-secondary debates and award prizes to schools that demonstrate values based education among other activities.

II. Public Appeals NLI will engage the public by speaking about values on the radio air ways, writing about these values and publishing them in local newspapers, publishing of books based on and distribution of wrist bands with values prints on them.

The top ten (10) values identified by Nigerians in NLI’s Essay competition as the values a Nigerian society should be built on include:

1)    Integrity

2)    Industry

3)    Compassion

4)    Justice and Equity

5)    Tolerance

6)    Discipline

7)    Family Values

8)    Contentment

9)    Spirituality

10)  Patriotism

NLI currently has a radio campaign on these top ten values.  Notable and credible Senior and Future leaders will be speaking about each of these values.  Please listen to some of the recordings here.

III. Community Service – NLI will work with corporations and willing entities in activities that will benefit the public (e.g. a local community, schools, hospitals and orphanage). Each project will be completed by 5-20 people and will involve all employees of the corporation including the Chief Executive.

IV. Key Stakeholder – NLI will engage civic organizations like churches in promoting values.
