NLI has further increased its number of accomplished and future values-based leaders eager to play a transformative role in the development of Nigeria. On April 25, in collaboration with partner Yale University, a new cohort of accomplished leaders was inducted as Senior Fellows of NLI (SFNLI) at a ceremony chaired by retired Chief Justice Margaret Marshall at the Greenberg Centre, Yale University.Further, on May 30 at the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel in Lagos, 27 future leaders were inducted as Associate Fellows of NLI (AFNLI).

Sequel to the Dana Airlines accident on June 3, 2012, NLI began the implementation of its Safer Skies Initiative [SSI] project to improve the overall flight safety standards in Nigeria.

With Nigeria's democratic transition, a number of NLI Alumni are now in positions to apply leadership in practice and, through them, NLI will further contribute to purposeful leadership in Nigeria.

NLI is in strategic partnership with Oxford University's Said Business School to commence a Nigerian Shapers Programme at Oxford University, UK. The programme, to commence in 2016, is a one-year MBA Degree at Said Business School of Oxford University.

Under its Safer Skies Initiative [SSI], NLI organized an aviation safety forum titled Partnering for Safer Skies: Reform Agenda for the Nigerian Aviation Sector.

SFNLI Kamar Adeleke collaborated with the Lagos State Government, through Public Private Partnership programme, to establish the first ultra-modern cardiac and renal centre in sub Saharan Africa.

Associate Fellow Aduragbemi Banke-Thomas is the beneficiary of the strategic partnership between NLI and the McCain Institute for International Leadership under the aegis of the Next Generation Leaders [NGL] Program of the McCain Institute.

SFNLI Bola Adesola, CEO of Standard Chartered Bank, was appointed to serve in the Transition Committee of President Muhammadu Buhari.

AFNLI Hassan Rilwan has been selected to participate in the 2015 Mandela Washington Fellowship, the flagship program of President's Obama Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI).

At the recently concluded Oxford Africa Conference, in May 2015, SFNLI Tony Elumelu had a leadership dialogue with AFNLIs Modupe Adefeso, Deborah Owhin, Segun Okubanjo and Tunde Ajia.

On Friday, 26 June 2015, the High Commissioner of India to Nigeria, Ambassador A. R Ghanashyam, hosted a dinner in honour of the 2015 Associate Fellows Class.

As part of the efforts to strengthen the NLI network and to maintain camaraderie among its members, NLI organised an Alumni Dinner which took place on Friday, July 31, 2015, at The Grosvenor Hotel, 101 Buckingham Palace Road, London, United Kingdom.
